Custom Salon Logo & Branding That Feels Grounded and Elevated: The Stone Lotus

I’m so excited to share my latest branding project: a peaceful, elevated identity for The Stone Lotus Salon — a brand-new hair salon coming soon to Sebastopol, California.

This wasn’t just any branding job. It was a chance to bring to life a full visual identity for a space rooted in calm, balance, and intention. From the very first conversation, it was clear this salon was going to offer more than just great hair; my client's goal was to make the salon an experience. And that’s exactly what we set out to reflect through the brand.

A Modern, Meaningful Custom Salon Logo

The client came to me knowing one thing for sure: they wanted a lotus flower in the logo. But rather than using a traditional lotus (which can sometimes feel overdone), I took a more minimal, symbolic approach.

Here’s what makes this custom salon logo special:

  • Three simplified lotus blooms — a subtle nod to family and connection

  • A central dot — symbolizing balance, presence, and harmony

  • Custom S letterforms — inspired by the shape of a lotus leaf for a soft, organic feel

The result? A logo that feels peaceful and grounded, but still elevated and intentional, just like the experience this salon promises.

Building a Peaceful Brand Identity

The full salon brand identity includes:

  • A custom primary logo, secondary logo, and logo mark

  • A calming, earth-toned color palette (think sage, charcoal, warm cream, and a whisper of lavender)

  • Font pairings that strike the balance between refined and approachable

  • Visual elements and brand illustrations inspired by natural textures and Bali-inspired tranquility

Every detail was designed to reflect a space that invites you to breathe a little deeper, from the branding to the decor.
